Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. She is the host of Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also the host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark spiky blond locks and pumped up appearance, offers easy techniques anyone can master. Chef Burrell has also worked at several of the most prestigious restaurants located in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy, and battled in Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a youngster, growing up in New York's Upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America has sparked her interest in restaurant management after she earned the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The student says "I was a huge Culinary Institute of America student. I loved every minute of it." I just couldn't get enough out of it. After graduating, chef Burrell resided in Italy for a whole year attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She also worked in La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin starred restaurant) located in Tuscany. While in Italy she acquired an appreciation for and appreciation for Italian food. This had an enormous impact on how she views food. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation and is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids with disabilities. In her capacity as an inspirational speaker, she makes trips across the country to share her passion for food as well as her career in the culinary field. Anne in all her experience in the kitchen, has declared that it's an honor to have the opportunity to share her passion for life with others.
